Dust

Today, I woke up to everything we had

Turned to dust

To rain

Drumming unceasingly

In a broken pattern against our window

I turned to you

But was left starting at an empty pillow

Where your head should rest

I remember instead where you now lie asleep

But no matter how much this goodbye too soon has bruised us,

I do not regret a day spend beside you

I will think of you

And the way you made me

I will not regret holding your heart in my hands

The way that you found me

Before I dissolved into the unforgiving wind

That continues to sweep loves past away from me

I will not forget

The November

How it hit us with an all time low

I won't look back

I won't look back and wish I had not relied on you to hold me steady

As I walked the street

Despite the way it feels now,

So empty and cold

When I lie down beneath the ground,

I will remember you

With my last breath,

I will think of you

I know that if I close my eyes and search for you,

I will fi nd you

Whether you be at the ends of the earth

Or just beneath my feet

I will follow you
